Company Description: The Harlem Globetrotters International, Inc. ("Harlem Globetrtotters" or "HGI") is one of the most renowned sports and entertainment franchises in the world. Originally founded in 1926, HGI is now in its 80th consecutive season. HGI has played over 22,000 games, in 117 countries, before 121 million fans. In its 2005 season, which ended in July, the team played 229 games in 216 cities across the United States and Canada with the Company’s 2005 ‘World of Fun’ North American Tour. The Company’s two touring teams also played 102 games in 28 countries across 4 continents during the 2005 World Tour.

Transaction: SCGF I and II provided the equity capital for a leveraged buy-out of HGI. The sources of capital for the buy-out were a combination of debt, equity, and a rollover of seller capital.
